Seashore Foraging/ Wild Food
Remember rock pooling as a child? Relive your youth and discover the joys of foraging again. This time with the objective of learning about wild foods on the shore line.
Enjoy learning about what to gather and how to gather it. We will collect wild sea plants, seaweeds and shellfish with the aim of cooking what we gather.
Find – wild edible plants, a plethora of shellfish – limpets, mussels, crabs and other seashore edibles. Good company and good eating.
Cory Jones our expert guide had been eating and foraging wild plants for over 30 years and will give you tips on what and what not to collect, best times of year and where to look. Cory will teach you how to safely identify, pick and prepare your harvest with confidence. Depending on the season, we might find shellfish, crabs, a variety of edible seaweeds and seashore plants.
At the end of the session we will cook what we have found to taste the delights of the sea!

Sea shore foraging sessions can be organised on almost any stretch of coastline. Being based around Gairloch, Wester Ross we have ten of miles of clean rock pooling areas and beaches to forage amongst.
These practical sessions are 2-3 hours in length with timings depending on weather conditions and the tides.
