New partnership in Gairloch with Rua Reidh Lighthouse

Rhu Reigh lighthouseIn 2013 we are proud to announce the Walking and Wildlife Adventures have teamed up with the new owners of the Rua Reidh Lighthouse Hostel to run wildlife walks from their visitor centre.

Activities Around RUA REIDH LIGHTHOUSE 2013

Seashore Safari – A family event to explore the rocky shores around the lighthouse. Wander into sea caves, view seabirds, explore rock pools and pull up your own creel pot – 2 hours

Seabird and Sea Eagle Safari – Walk round the cliff tops and moorland peninsula in search of white tailed sea eagles and seabirds with stunning views of remote beaches, sea stacks and across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides. Entails rough moorland walking. 10-4pm

Gannets at GairlochSeaboard Wildlife – Looking seaward we will use telescope and binoculars to search for sea life. Potential for viewing whales & dolphins, otters, gannets, divers and more! This walk around the cliff tops will focus on viewing sea birds and sea life. 10-1pm

All activities start & finish at the Lighthouse Visitor Centre, so whatever the weather we have the option to be indoors to get warm and dry! Parking is available at the top car park which is a 5 minute walk from the lighthouse itself.

There is very limited  parking at the lighthouse which is for residential users only. Please park at the top car park.

Bat Walks are run on evenings from Gairloch. Come and search for nocturnal wildlife and listen to bats on a bat detector.
