  • Ascent-  A’ Bhuidheanach and Carn na

Caim (2 munros) east of Drumochter Pass

  • Timings – 3.5 hours
  • Weather – Weather – bloody ridiculous. A wind was forecast. Lower down in the valley it was force 4/5 plus some stronger gusts. On the summits it was a constant force 6/7 (60 mph wind) so you were buffeted and moved across the track. With odd spells of slightly stronger winds. Not too cold which was good. Pictures make it look quite pleasant.
  • Munro Total  – Now 7

Description

First bird heard and saw was a Red Grouse. Some mountain hares on the summit still in brown coats.

Mostly on modern rocky hill track. Such a shame these roads go no where and detract from the wilderness feel of the mountains. Of course they are associated with the grouse shooting sector to get clients around the hills easily.
