Munros – Beinn Liath Mhor and Sgorr Ruadh
- Ascent- 1360m
- Timings – 5.5 hours
- Weather – A calm and clear day. Light but chilly winds
- Munro Total – Now 13
From the valley a quick walk up to the main valley where you can see the round of the mountains appear (see above) A great clear day and as i approached the first main uphill I disturbed a recently arrived flock of fieldfares which were eating the last of the cow and crowberries.
Quite a lot of scree and some easy scrambling to the summit of Beinn Liath Mhor.
And good views out over Torridon and to the immense Liathach.
Then an unexpected scramble down to the belach between tow munros of the day but giving fine views back to Beinn Liath Mhor.
On and upwards to the summit of Sgorr Ruadh. This gave fine views back towards Fuar Throll. The way down to the main path was complex but as visibility was good there were no problems.
Once on the main track it was a steady decent with a knee deep wade across the River Lair and back down to the red telephone box at Achnashellach station.
