ARRIVAL DAY: We generally recommend that you arrive by around 6.00pm in the evening, in time to relax before your evening meal at around 7.30pm. The holiday leader will make him or herself known to you, and will usually suggest that the group meets in the bar for a drink before dinner. The first evening is an opportunity to get to know your fellow guests. If you arrive earlier in the day you will find your room available from around 2.00pm (hotels vary slightly in this respect). If you do arrive before your room is ready the hotel will be pleased to store your luggage while you take a stroll around the area or relax in the lounge or garden. A TYPICAL WALKING DAY: The day begins with a leisurely breakfast, which is usually available from 8am (earlier at some hotels). After breakfast we set out on our walk (or take the minibus to the start of the day’s walk) at around 9.30am. We walk until around 5.30pm, taking a 15-20 minute break during the morning and afternoon and a break of around 40 minutes to eat our picnic lunch. Additionally, we have plenty of time to admire views, take photographs, and explore villages. We return to base at around 5.30pm, which allows plenty of time to change and relax before dinner (generally served at around 7.00pm). We do not timetable any evening ‘entertainment’ as we usually find that the make-up of our groups makes for an interesting and sociable evening in its own right. Your leader and the hotel will be pleased to make suggestions for possible visits and activities. DEPARTURE DAY: Our holidays usually finish after the walk on the final day. We will aim to get back to the hotel for around 4.00pm where a hot drink will be available before departure.
