Alison and Cory have over 35 years of combined experience in working in the outdoors. They started Walking & Wildlife Adventures after seeing that a number of holiday and course providers were not meeting the needs of their customers.

The company is based on the ideal that those who travel through the countryside or look at wildlife want to learn about the what, where, when, how and why of the scenery and creatures they observe.

Whether being guided round the Three Peaks, striding over Lakeland fells or discovering the wild plants and animals native to the region, Alison and Cory feel you will enjoy the company and interpretation given by their experienced leaders.

Cory Jones
MSc, PGCE, APIOL, IEEM
Cory has a varied background in outdoor leadership and training. As a boy he was always bird watching on his local patch or around the north east where he was brought up.
He is a qualified teacher, mountain leader and orienteering instructor. In the past he has been Centre Manager at Malham Tarn Field Centre, managed the Lake District National Park Education Service, been Head of Biodiversity and Life-long learning for Sheffield Wildlife Trust, managed rainforest conservation projects in the Philippines and worked overseas as a development advisor before setting up Walking & Wildlife Adventures with Alison.
Cory has been on or led expeditions in Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, India, Pakistan, China, Tibet, Malawi, Kenya and Guyana.
He has lived in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales for over seven years.
These days he is equally happy trekking in the high ranges of the Himalaya or watching dippers near his home in the Lake District.

Alison Fawcett
Alison is an experienced administrator, having started working life as a Civil Servant more years ago than she cares to admit! Developing a great affinity for the outdoors growing up in the Yorkshire Dales, she loved nothing better than searching out rare and unusual plants.
She has studied various aspects of botany, geography, geology and countryside management over the years and has lived in many places ranging from Scotland to West London, returning to college and becoming involved in outdoor education.
Previous jobs have included spells working for The National Trust (both outside carrying out practical work and office based) and Losehill Hall where she led many groups on experiential outdoor education days.
Now based back in the Yorkshire Dales, Alison splits her time between co-running a small village shop and Post Office as well as working with Cory in developing Walking & Wildlife Adventures, fitting in walks round her local area as much as she can.
